Senior B Hurling Championship Round 2
Clodiagh Gaels 0-23 Birr 2-9. A second win in this year’s championship for us as we defeated Birr in Kinnitty. We went in at the break 12-5 ahead only for Birr to peg the lead back early in the second half with two goals. We kept motoring and put the points on the board to make sure we left Kinnitty with an 8 point win.
Junior A Hurling Championship Round 2
Clodiagh Gaels 1-15 Ballyskenagh Killavilla 1-14. A last minute winning goal from Diarmuid Brady got us the result in this one. Ballyskenagh Killavilla went in 1-8 to 0-9 at the break after playing all the hurling. We were optimistic going out in the second half knowing we had work to do and the players to do it. We kept the scoreboard ticking over through Anthony Gorman, Billy Gorman and Kieran Coonan. We had one last play and the ball broke to Diarmuid Brady, he stroke the ball across the keeper into the net to seal the win.
